There is no shortage of beaches in the area and we have listed a small selection below. If you are planning holidays in France you should consider taking in one of these beautiful seaside resorts.

Between Carolles and the town of Granville, about 12 kms north, you will find the beaches of Carolles, Jullouville, Kairon Plage and St Pair all accessed by the D911.

Carolles beach

The beach at Carolles is shadowed by the wonderful cliffs which offer a stunning view of the whole area including Mont St. Michel. There are a number of restaurants and the picturesque village of Carolles, situated atop the cliffs, is just a couple of kms away.

Our apartment at Carolles is situated just 100 metres from the beach with views stretching to Granville in one direction and across the bay of Mont St Michel to Cancale in the other.

Jullouville beach

This resort offers everything for the holiday maker from fine restaurants to street markets. The town is buzzing during the summer months.

  St Pair

This quiet village offers a taste of typical French life. The beach is sandy and clean and there are places shadowed by the cliffs.

Granville beach

Granville offers a clean sandy beach, plus a fantastic town full of excitement and entertainment. The best beach is by the casino. There is also a beach at Donville-les Bains which is on the northern edge of the town.

Heading north from Granville you will find the beach at St Martin de Bréhal and further up the coast directly west from the town of Coutances you will find the beach at Agon-Coutainville.

  St Martin

There is a live musical band here every Saturday night and a market on Sundays.

The beach at Agon-Coutainville is a little drive away but when you get there you will be delighted. The village is a real holiday makers Mecca complete with bars, restaurants and shops full of holiday knick-knacks!

Please note, several of the photos on this page were taken in November so we can't guarantee they'll be this empty in the summer!
